The 60th Hunger Games was the annual installment of the Hunger Games, which occurred approximately 15 years prior to the beginning of the 75th Hunger Games, Arena 01.

Games SummaryEdit

The arena in the 60th Hunger Games was particularly muddy and harsh, making mobility a difficult prospect at best, much less survival. Many tributes succumbed to death by natural causes long before they came within range of any of the others, falling prey to exposure, poisoning from the various deadly plants in the wetland, and disease brought on by the poor conditions or carried by biting insects. The Gamemakers eventually found themselves forced to drive the remaining tributes into the central marsh, in the hopes of forcing a confrontation to liven things up a bit.

This plan was met with great success. The resulting fights were often messy, drawn out affairs, much to the Capitol's delight. Many of the tributes were forced to engage in cat-and-mouse evasion tactics to survive, which made for a thrilling show. Some fights lasted for hours, if not days, due to the sub-optimal conditions.

It is unknown who won these games

The ArenaEdit

The Arena of this particular Hunger Games was a cold, damp wetland surrounded by equally cold, damp woodlands. Mushrooms of varying edibility, poisonous insects, and aggressive wildlife were common environmental hazards. Visibility was incredibly poor due to the foggy conditions and the thick marsh grass, making it difficult for Tributes to spot potential threats, and the wet conditions and low temperatures lead to many tributes falling ill after the first week.
